Looking for something less formal? Sounds like one of our famous picnics is in order!

We’ll help you choose a menu and plan a schedule of activities in our shaded picnic meadow. Located on the southwest side of the Mansion grounds, there’s plenty of room for fun, from horseshoes to softball to hayrides … and everything in between. Our staff can assist you in preparing and serving the meal, and lend a hand with athletic equipment, games, entertainment and any other activities you wish.


The Ceresville Meadow picnic area is located on 10 riverside acres to the southwest side of the Mansion grounds. Recreation facilities include:

  • Softball Diamond
  • Electricity
  • One Badminton Court
  • One Volleyball Court
  • Restrooms
  • Scheduling & Planning

The staff at Ceresville Meadow will assist you in scheduling and planning every aspect of your picnic. In addition to our food and beverage services, recreation equipment and field activities, we can provide additional services and supplies such as: T-shirts, Hats, Buttons, Kerchiefs, Bands, DJ’s, Dunk Tanks, Moon Bounce, Pony Rides, Hay Rides, Magicians, Clowns, and Popcorn Machines at an additional charge. Your picnic may begin after 1pm. Departure time is no later than 5:00 PM, unless prior arrangements have been made. Extended hours may be arranged on a per hour basis at $250 per hour.

Food will be served for a two-hour time period at the time you desire. A second serving time is available for an additional charge.

Meadow Rental

There is a $3.00 per guest charge for the use of the meadow, which provides for a 4-hour event time frame. The meadow rental will not exceed $500.00


Our staff members can help you plan your menu, meal schedule, field activities and other special events. A field supervisor will be in the area during your entire function. We also provide field attendants to assist in preparing and serving the meal. Our attendants will assist with athletic equipment, games, entertainment and other activities with prior arrangement.

Minimum Requirements

Revenue minimums will apply to all meadow events.


On site parking for all of your guests is located in the meadow near the picnic pavilion and ball field. Our field attendants will assist with parking directions.

Lost and Found

We cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen articles. We maintain a “lost and found” and will hold any items for five business days.

Set-up, Restrooms, Electricity and Lighting

A standard set-up of picnic tables, buffet table, beverage station, one display table and registration table will be provided. Additional set-up, linens and china can be provided for an additional charge. Restroom facilities are available in the picnic meadow. Electricity and Pavilion lighting are also available.


We recommend that groups use an advance ticket system to allow an accurate count of guests. You may assign someone to collect tickets to control food distribution or we can provide an attendant to collect tickets as your guests enter the parking area, at an additional cost. This is an excellent way to verify final guest count. Tickets should clearly state the picnic hours and the serving time.
